El Casal

The Casal today is the place where falleros gather to share work and fun, especially to fraternize.

Formerly it was more for exclusively male meetings, in which women had a much less important role than today.

The first Casal de Nuestra Falla was owned by Mr. José Puchol, regent of the Genesis barracks (premises used as a casal - party room) located on Calle Antonio Ponz at the intersection with Fuente Encarroz, today it is the Racó del Mar (Antonio Ponz 50). There, meals were made for the poor, theater, etc.

In the year 49, the overflow of the waters of the Barranc del Carraixet interrupted these activities, and also destroyed all the documents existing until then on the faults.

Later on, in the mid-50s, the house was moved to Calle Cavite nº 107, which today is an iron and painting workshop, and just in front of it there were plays, dances, etc...(Back of the Galleon).

Our fault is reborn, already in a clearer and more definitive way, in the 1952 financial year. The fault was planted at the junction of Cavite with Fuente Encarroz until the year 52 when there was a flood and left a large sinkhole that prevented it from being planted there, which meant changing the location to the junction with Antonio Ponz.

Later we stayed a couple of years, about the year 58 in Av. Malvarrosa 104 (old Day). From there we went to Av. Malvarrosa 84, (Mercadona, formerly Cine Malvarrosa), it was a large plot where plays and dances were also performed.

From there before having the current house we spent a year in Av. Malvarrosa 83 crossing with Lanzarote (former Labell) due to complaints from a bar in case we took away the clientele, and we had to request an Association license.

About 1964 we moved to the current farmhouse, Av. Malvarrosa 92 Bajo

During our stay here we had to move to Calle Bolbaite nº 4 bajo, due to a problem in the farm due to aluminosis during 1995.
